The Lord is with Us
We migrated to the United States from Hong Kong eight months ago. It was through the leading of my son’s counselor that we came to know this true and living God, the Lord Jesus Christ. My husband and I were baptized first, then my son. We started to meet with the local church, praying with Christian brothers and sisters, reading the Word of God prayerfully (Ephesians 6:17-18), praising the Lord, loving one another, sharing and experiencing the Lord’s grace.
We attend the Lord’s Day meeting of the local church every Lord’s Day, eating, drinking, and enjoying the sweetness of the Lord. On one Lord’s Day in June 1998, I was driving to the church meeting with my son in the car. A car running the red light in the intersection hit us. Our car was turned 180 degrees. The mirror was shattered on the passenger side. The door on the passenger side was smashed in, and my son’s eyeglasses came off in the impact. The other car sped away from the accident. The eyewitnesses were not able to see the license plate number.
We thank and praise the Lord that He was with us and covered us with His mighty hand. Our car was totaled, but miraculously, we walked away from this accident with only some scratches. We experienced the Lord’s saving.
